Welcome to the Official Website of the Conference of Directors and Chief Road Traffic Officers of the Federation (VIOs) The Conference of Directors and Chief Road Traffic Officers of the Federation (VIOs) is a coalition of Directors and Chief Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) representing all 36 States of the Nigerian Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The organization was formed in 2003 to address the poor representation of Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) issues at different fora within the country. Hence the first National Conference of the body was hosted in the FCT in 2005.
We ensure vehicle safety, promote road traffic policies, and raise public awareness.
Our members across Nigeria conduct small, regular inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards, aiming to prevent accidents caused by defects.
Collaborating with federal and other state agencies, we encourage development and enforcement of road traffic safety laws to reduce accidents, injuries, and fatalities.
Through workshops, seminars, and annual conferences, we provide training and resources to improve the capacity of VIOs and road traffic enforcement officers.
We engage with the public to create awareness about the importance of vehicle safety, road traffic regulations, and responsible driving habits.
We advocate for effective policies that enhance vehicle administration, road safety, and traffic law enforcement.

We ensures compliance with vehicle policies, including roadworthiness, licensing, hackney permits, and driver training. We also support other transport agencies.
